Keeping an eye on WINZ in Ohariu
The Johnsonville Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) office is the only one within the Ohariu electorate.
Four times a year, the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) produces statistics of working-age kiwis (aged 18-64 years) receiving main benefits from the Johnsonville office.
It is a useful way to see how things are going in the electorate.
You can track the number of people on the unemployment benefit over the previous 16 periods by visiting this page but if you want more info about other places, or other benefits, you can find the data at the MSD website here.
June 2011
385 people were registered on the unemployment benefit at the Johnsonville WINZ office.
