Charles Chauvel co-hosted with UNICEF NZ and the NZ Climate Change Research Institute a launch of the “Our Future” DVD today at a reception held at Parliament.

The DVD is an educational and motivational resource for other young people around New Zealand that gives a youth perspective on climate change issues.

"Our Future" is based upon the experiences of five young New Zealanders aged between 15 and 17 who participated in last year’s  UNICEF Children’s Climate Forum held in Copenhagen prior to the COP15 conference.

The Forum included 164 delegates from 44 countries urging world leaders to take decisive action on reducing climate change.

Chauvel, who is Labour’s Climate Change spokesperson, attended the COP15 conference and is expected to attend this year’s conference in Cancun later this year.
