Irish Society Debate
In celebration of St. Patricks Day, every year the Wellington Irish Society holds a celebrity debate. Traditionally, a team from the Wellington Irish society debates local Members of Parliament, and this year Charles took part in the shenanigans.
This year the moot was "that Irish democracy works", and Charles was on the negative team. The other speakers on the negative team were Grant Robertson, the 2008 Labour candidate for the Wellington Central electorate, whom Charles promoted as a speaker at the event. The team's 3rd speaker was National MP Chris Finlayson. The affirmative team were John Whitty, Roy McGuinness, and Aislinn Ryan (also pictured with Charles and Grant).
