New office in Johnsonville
Labour leader Phil Goff and deputy leader Annette King joined List MP Charles Chauvel for the opening of his new electorate office in Johnsonville. Charles Chauvel, who has contested the seat for Labour in 2008 and 2005 as the electorate candidate, will use the office as a base and will hold regular clinics there.
“It is 14 years since Labour has had a presence of this type in the electorate and the decision to establish the office sends a clear message about Labour’s desire to step up its involvement in the area”, Mr Chauvel said.
The launch also featured several members of the Labour caucus and local supporters, with standing room only in the Johnsonville Road office.
In addition, Charles who is also a member of Labour’s Pacific caucus is looking forward to working with Luamanuvao Winnie Laban, the MP for Mana, to advance the interests of Pacific communities in the area.
The office is expected to be open each weekday from 10am to 4pm. Vistors are welcome.
