October is breast cancer awareness month, and every October, the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation runs a street appeal on pink ribbon day. In 2007, pink ribbon day was held on 12 October. Charles volunteered to be one of the collectors for the street appeal, basing himself at the Wellington Railway Station for an hour on the Friday morning. Here Charles is pictured with one of the many generous members of the public who made a donation to the appeal.
