Celebrating Adult Learning

Encouraging people to consider undertaking lifelong learning is one of the goals of the current government. Adult Learning Week, in September each year, celebrates an aspect of this, and in 2007 the week marked 10 years of Adult Learners' Week in New Zealand. The Week promotes the idea that anyone at all can be an adult learner. The theme of this year's Adult Learners' Week is "Learning in Our Place - Te Akoranga o Tatou", reflecting the uniqueness of community-based adult education.
