This original antique engraving from 1906 of gorgeous Romanesque period architecture 6th to 10th century) is one of the most beautifully detailed engravings you'll ever see!The details in this sharp as a tack engraving from the late 19th century in this study or Romanesque building design are amazing. Printing of this quality and detail is a long lost art-form I'm afraid. Engraving is an amazingly slow and time-consuming process. Far too costly to pay an artisan to do in these times.Zoom in for a closer look.'1906 Romanesque Architecture' is in glorious condition captured in classic basic black (of course) and it's Perfect; smooth and flat with firm edges and sharp corners and almost no tanning at all. There is no consensus for the beginning date of the Romanesque architecture, with proposals ranging from the 6th to the 10th century. Examples of Romanesque architecture can be found across the European continent, making it the first pan-European architectural style since Imperial Roman Architecture. The Romanesque style in England is traditionally referred to as Norman architecture.Combining features of Western Roman and Byzantine buildings, Romanesque architecture is known by its massive quality, its thick walls, round arches, sturdy piers, groin vaults, large towers and decorative arcading. Each building has clearly defined forms and they are frequently of very regular, symmetrical plan so that the overall appearance is one of simplicity when compared with the Gothic buildings that were to follow. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Matted, framed and displayed as a gallery grouping, these wonderful old black and white studies are simply spectacular.
